While many local shores have strict rules, Leo Carrillo State Park is a premier destination, allowing leashed dogs on its "North Beach" area (north of lifeguard tower 3) where they can explore tide pools and sea caves. For a more secluded experience, Staircase Beach provides a rugged, dog-friendly escape at the northern end of the park, while Little Dume Beach offers a picturesque cove for a leashed stroll along the water's edge.
